Tello was born in 1337, the son of Alfonso XI de Castilla y León and Leonor de Guzmán y Ponce de León. The place is not known.
He died in 1370 in Cuenca de Campos.
He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Juana de Lara, who he married in 1353 in Segovia, Segovia prov., Castilla y León, España . Their only known child was Juan Tellez (c1360-1385).
His second wife is not known. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was María Téllez (c1360-?).
