Henry was born about 1310 in Grosmont castle (Grisemount, Grisemond), Grosmont, Monmouthshire, Cymru , the son of Henry Plantagenêt and Maud de Chaworth.

He died on 23 MAR 1362 in Leicester castle, Leicester, Leicestershire, England .

His wife was Isabelle de Beaumont, who he married in 1337. The place has not been found. Their two known children were Maud (1339-1362) and Blanche (1345-1368).
