Joan was born about 1344 in Staffordshire, England, the daughter of Ralph KG de Stafford and Margaret de Audley.

She died before 1397. The place is not known.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was John de Cherleton. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their four known children were Joan (c1352-c1374), Jane (c1356-c1380), John (1362-1401) and Edward KG (c1371-1421).

Her second husband was sir Gilbert Talbot, who she married on BEF 16 NOV 1379. The place has not been found. They had no known children.
