Marguerite was born about 1370, the daughter of Raoul de Coucy and Jeanne d'Harcourt. The place is not known.

Her husband was Guy III de Clermont-Nesle, who she married in 1389. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Guy IV (c1390-1473).
