Patrick was born about 1340 in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland, the son of sir David de Graham and Helen of Strathearn.

His second wife was Eupheme Stewart, who he married in BEF DEC 1406. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Patrick (1372-1413), sir Robert (c1375-1437), David (c1377-?) and Alexander (c1379-?).
