He died on 12 APR 1417 in Ranton Abbey, Staffordshire, England.
His wife was Maud de Grey, who he married in 1370. The place has not been found. Their nine known children were Anne (c1371-?), sir John (c1371-1405), sir Thomas II (c1377-1420), sir Richard (c1379-c1431), Lionel (c1373-?), Jane (c1381-?), Robert (c1382-?), Catherine (c1383-?) and Isabel (1385-?).
