George was born about 1460 in Knowlesley, Lancashire, England, the son of Thomas Stanley and Eleanor Neville.

He died in BET 05 DEC 1497 AND 04 DEC 1503 in Derby House, St. Paul's Wharf, London.

His wife was Joan IX Mary le Strange, who he married in 1482. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Jane (c1483-1519/20), Thomas (<1485-1521), John (?-1503), sir James (1486-1562), George (?-?), Elizabeth (?-?) and Margaret (?-?).
