Eleanor was born about 1500 in Wighill, Aintsy, Yorkshire, England, the daughter of Bryan Stapleton and Joan Threlkeld.
Her husband was Thomas Wharton. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were sir Thomas (1520-1572) and Feorina (?-1557).
