Personal and Family Information

James was born on 17 MAR 1472 in Stirling Castle, Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland, the son of James III Stewart and Margrete af Danmark-Norge-Sverige.

He died on 09 SEP 1513 in Flodden, battle of, Battle of Branxton (Brainston Moor), Branxton, Northumberland, England .

He had five marriages/partners. His first wife was Margaret Tudor, who he married on 8 AUG 1503 in Holyrood Abbey, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Their five known children were James (1507-1508), Dorothea (1508-?), Arthur (1509-1510), James V (1512-1542) and Alexander (1514-1515).

His second partner was Isabel Stewart, but they were never married. Their only known child was Jean (<1510-<1562).
