He died before 23 APR 1549 in Normandel, Tourouvre, Martagne-au-Perche, Orne, Basse-Normandie, France .
His wife was Catherine DeChampeau, who he married in BEF 1540. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Louis (<1549-?), Françoise (<1549->1596), Michel (<1549->1586), Thomas (<1549->1596), Catherine (<1549->1596) and Louise (<1549->1596).

Jean was the founder of the branch of "Gallion"
In March of 1490, an act to endorse in "l'Echiquier d'Alençon" to permit the construction of a blacksmith shop if "Gallion" in the name if Jean Tremblay for himself and his brothers, heirs of Gervais Tremblay. Also to distinguish Jean from his brothers, among the heirs of Gervais Tremblay, they called him "Grignon" from the name of a mill that he was exploiting on the Seigneurie of Aspres.
