Otto was born in BET 1167 AND 1171, the son of Friedrich III von Hohenstaufen and Béatrice I de Bourgogne. The place is not known.

He died on 13 JAN 1200 in Besançon, Franche-Comté (France) .

His wife was Marguerite de Blois, who he married in ABT 1190. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Beatrix II (?-1231).
