Joan was born about 1330 in Gamulston, Nottinhamshire, England, the daughter of sir George Monbouchier and Isabelle de Chauncy.
She died after 1360 in Holme Pierrepont, Nottinghamshire, England.
Her husband was sir Edmund de Pierrepont, who she married in ABT 1348. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Henry Empson (1338-?), sir Edmund (c1350->1422) and Elizabeth (c1355-?).
