Baldwin was born about 1348 in Maxtoke castle, Warwickshire, England, the son of sir John de Montfort and Joan de Clinton.
He died in 1385/86 in Coleshill, Staffordshire, England.
His wife was Margaret de Clinton, who he married in ABT 1370. The place has not been found. Their only known child was sir William (c1375-1452).
