Robert was born about 1250 in Harley, Shropshire, England, the son of sir Richard de Harley and Burga Willey.
He died in 1349. The place is not known.
His wife was Margaret de Brampton. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their five known children were Brian (c1320-c1384), Robert (c1275-c1308), sir Robert II (<1320-<1370), Walter (c1322-?) and Joan (c1325-?).
