William was born about 1372 in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England, the son of Ralph de Egerton and Eustacia Haselwood.
He died in 1421. The place is not known.
His wife was Ellen Hawkstone. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Ralph (c1398-1452).
