Maud was born in 1329 in Boughrood, Elfael Is Mynydd, Radnorshire, Cymru, the daughter of Ieuan ap Rhys and Gladys verch Dafydd.

She died before 1424. The place is not known.

Her husband was Llywelyn ap Hywel. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their seven known children were Dafydd ap Llewellyn ap Hywel (c1351-1415), Richard ap Llewellyn (c1353-?), Jenkin ap Llewellyn (c1355-?), Hywel ap Llewellyn (c1357-?), Thomas ap Llewellyn (1364-c1430), Morgan ap Llewellyn (c1362-?) and Gwilym ap Llewellyn (c1361-?).
