His wife was Alice verch Llewellyn. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their nine known children were Dafydd ap Hywel (c1326-?), Ieuan ap Hywel (c1328-?), NN verch Hywel (1328-?), Llywelyn ap Hywel (1332-1412), Elsbeth verch Hywel (c1332-?), Gwilym ap Hywel (c1334-?), Madoc deGraunt ap Hywel (c1335-?), Lleucu verch Hywel (c1336-?) and Gwenllian verch Hywel (c1340-?).
