John was born about 1365 in Somerleyton, Yarmouth, Suffolk, England, the son of sir John Kelveden Jernegan and Agatha Geddney Shelton.
He died in 1401. The place is not known.
His wife was Margaret Vis-de-Lou. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was sir Thomas (c1381-c1450).
