Matilda was born about 1345 in Monmouth, Monmouthshire, Cymru, the daughter of Robert de Pembrugge and Juliana la Zouche.
Her husband was Thomas de Norbury. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was John (c1375-1414).
