Patrick was born about 1281 in Wester Powrie, Forfarshire (now Angus), Scotland, the son of sir Patrick Ogilvy but his mother is unknown.
He died in 1329 in Auchterhouse, Forfarshire (now Angus), Scotland.
His wife was Marjory Ramsay. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Walter (c1330-c1365) and Margaret (1200-?).
