Henry was born in 1331 in Coggeshall, Braintree, Essex, England, the son of sir John III de Coggeshall and Margaret de Stanton.

He died on 25 JAN 1375. The place is not known.

His wife was Joane de Welles. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was sir William (1358-1426).
