Mechteld was born about 1410, the daughter of Pieter Pot and Maria Terrebroots. The place is not known.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was Arnold van Werve, who she married in 1430. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Nicolaas (c1430-1503).

Her second husband was Bartholomeus van Raaphorst. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Machteld (c1440-1479) and Catharina (c1450-1513).
