Katarina was born about 1245 in Bjälbo, Östergötland, Sverige, the daughter of Birger Magnuson av Bjalbo and Ingeborg Eriksdotter av Sverige.

She died after 28 FEB 1289. The place is not known.

Her husband was Siegfried I von Anhalt-Zerbst, who she married on BEF 17 OCT 1259. The place has not been found. Their ten known children were Albrecht I (c1260-1316/17), Agnes (?->1316), Hedwig (?->1319), Heinrich (?-1340/41), Siegfried (?-1317), Elisabeth (c1261->1316), Judith (c1266->1316), Konstanze (?->1316), Hermann (?->1328) and Sophie (?->1290).
