Robert was born about 1305 in Derbyshire, England, the son of Thomas le Savage but his mother is unknown.
He died in 1349 in Cheadle, Stockport, Cheshire, England.
His wife was Margery de Cheadle. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was sir John I (IV) (1343-1386).
