Thomas was born on 22 MAR 1367 in Epworth, Isle Axholme, Lincolnshire, England, the son of John de Mowbray and Elizabeth de Segrave.

He died on 22 SEP 1399 in Venice, Italy.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Elizabeth le Strange, who he married on 20 FEB 1383. The place has not been found. They had no known children.

His second wife was Elizabeth FitzAlan, who he married in 1384. The place has not been found. Their five known children were Thomas (1385-1405), Margaret (c1388-c1459), Elizabeth (?-?), John (1392-1432) and Isabel (c1396-1452).

Note 1

The King's uncle, Thomas of Woodstock, 1st Duke of Gloucester, was imprisoned at Calais, where Nottingham was Captain. When Gloucester was killed in 1397, it was probably at the King's orders and probably with Nottingham's involvement.
