Stefan was born about 1425, the son of Đurađ Branković and Eirene Kantakouzene. The place is not known.

He died on 09 OCT 1476 in Belgrado castle, Fruili.

His wife was Angelina Aranitissa, who he married in 1461 in Skutari. Their four known children were Djordje (c1462-1516), Jovan (c1465-1502), Marija Kantakuzaina (1466-1495) and Milica (c1474-1554).
