Sivert was born in 1464 in Gelting, Kappeln, Schleswig-Holstein, the son of Claus von der Wisch but his mother is unknown.
He died in 1540 in Rendsburg (Rendsborg), Schleswig-Holstein.
His wife was Anna von Ahlefeldt. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their three known children were Hans (?-c1557), Claus Sivertsen (1504-1559) and Bertha (?->1566).
