Elizabeth was born about 1452 in Chartley, Staffordshire, England, the daughter of sir Walter Devereux and Anne Ferrers.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was sir Richard Corbet, who she married in ABT 1469 in Chartley, Staffordshire, England. Their nine known children were Anne (c1470-1548), Elizabeth (c1472-?), sir Robert II (1476-1513), George (c1479-?), Katherine (c1481-?), Margaret (c1483-?), Maria (c1484-?), Roger (c1487-?) and Richard (c1489-?).

Her second husband was sir Thomas Leighton. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was John (c1469-1532).
