He died on 15 MAY 1538 in Buchsweiler (now Bouxwiller).
His wife was Sibylle von Baden, who he married on 24 JAN 1505. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Johanna (1507-1572), Philipp IV (1514-1590), Christophora (1509-1582), Amalia (?-?), Felicitas (1513-1513) and Felicitas (1516-1551).
