Philipp was born on 20 MAR 1467 in Büdingen, the son of Ludwig II von Isenburg-Büdingen and Maria von Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein.
He died on 22 FEB 1526. The place is not known.
His wife was Amalie von Rieneck, who he married on 17 NOV 1495 in Büdingen. Their six known children were Anton I (1501-1560), Elisabeth (c1508-1572), Anna (1498-<1557), Luise (?-<1545), Katharina (?-1545) and Margarete (?-c1524).
