Erik was born about 1310 in Horingsholme, Lynge-Kronborg, Frederiksborh, Danmark, the son of Niels Eriksen Saltensee and Cathrine Timmesdatter Abildgård.
He died about 1379. The place is not known.
His wife was Ingeborg Pedersdatter Grubbe. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Karen Eriksdatter (1339-1382).
