Arnold was born about 1256 in Wezemaal, Brabant, Belgique, the son of Gottfried van Wesemaele and Isentrude van Alphen.

He died on 11 JUL 1302 in Courtrai (Kortrijk), Flandre Occidentale, Belgique .

He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Ida van Bierbeke, who he married in ABT 1280. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Willem (c1300-<1370), Arnold (c1283-?), Wouter (c1285-?) and Gijsbert (c1287-?).

His second wife was Johanna van Loon. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. They had no known children.

His third wife was Mechtheld van Gulik, who he married in AFT 1287. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Margaretha (c1310->1367).
