Sesostris was the son of Amenemhat I Sehetepibre and Nefrutotenen. The date and place of his birth have not been found.
His wife was Nefrusheri. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their four known children were Amenemhat II Nubkaure (?-?), Nefru-Ptah (?-?), Ite-Kuyet (?-?) and Nefru-Sobk (?-?).
