He died on 10 JUN 1383 in Mistra.
His wife was Irene Asanina, who he married in BEF 1320. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Matias Asen (c1325-1391), Manoel (c1326-1380), Maria (c1328->1360), Theodora (c1330/31->1381), Helene (1333-1396) and Andronikos (1334-1347).
