He died about 1189 in Saint-Jean d'Acre (now Acre, Israel) .
His wife was Ade de Montmirail, who he married in 1184. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Adéline (c1185-?), Miles III (IV, V, VII) (c1183-1234) and Sibylle (?-c1189).
