He died on 14 OCT 1189 in Saint-Jean d'Acre (now Acre, Israel) .
His wife was Adélaïs de Trainel-Vénisy, who he married in ABT 1167. The place has not been found. Their five known children were Érard (c1170-1245/46), Alix (c1162-?), Isabelle (?->1225), Gautier (?-1219) and Ada (?-?).
