Note 1
Joseph Thomas Chauvin was educated in public schools, both English and French, and has always worked on the home farm, his own home adjoining. After his father's death the management of the place became his task, which he has fulfilled with the most admirable results. He has taken an active part in politics, was elected by the Liberals town treasurer for Tilbury North in 1900, he has been secretary of the school board since his father's death; for two years he was constable.
