Jean was the son of Jean-Louis Séguin dit Ladéroute and Marie-Josephte Brazeau. The date and place of his birth have not been found.
He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Marie-Louise Girard, who he married on 2 FEB 1818 in Saint-Benoît (now in Mirabel) , Laurentides QC . Their only known child was Eustache (1833-1886).
His second wife was Angèle Charbonneau, who he married on 29 JUN 1862. The place has not been found. They had no known children.
