Église Saint-François-de-Sales, Huron River of St.Clair (now Clinton River), Mt Clemens MI

Note:

The following, thanks to Cindy Donahue: Fr. David Weisner of St. Peters Church stated in 1977 that " The remains of Felix and Mary and their heirs were removed from the Peltier Cemetery, PC 150*, Harrison Township, on April 23, 1909, and placed in St. Peters Cemetery." In the "Centenial History of Mt. Clemens," pg 110, it states that the first church was built on the Clinton River in 1826, and called St. Francis de Sales. A larger church was built, again on the Clinton River. St. Peter's Parish in Mt. Clemens began in 1843, and in 1846 Father Van Renterghem was appointed to the parish with instructions to merge the new village parish with the Clinton River Parish. It took the intervention of Bishop Lefevre to get the parishes to agree to a merger. There was no mention of cemeteries. * From attempting to transpose the 1875 plat map with a current one, Private Claim 150 would now be a part of Selfridge Air Force Base, or just east of it; the Peltier property (private claim 150) ran parallel to Jefferson (if it was extended across the Clinton River.) The closest accessible street would be Searay, which is off of North River Rd."
